Friday’s post will deal with indoor trees as houseplants, drawing on a recent article in the New York Times. Interestingly enough, the Times suggests that ficuses make lousy houseplants. While I grant you that this one would rather be growing in its native tropical habitat, it’s always been pretty happy just a few feet back from a sunny south bay window. It’s now 23 years old and has been moved several times, both from indoors to out and from town to town and state to state. I’m sure in its next move, it wishes I would cut a hole in my ceiling!
